Start with two measurements. Measure your dog’s forebreast (A) and chest girth (B), then compare both numbers with the Canine Mind tactical harness size chart. Weight is a secondary reference; the measurements determine the fit.
How to measure
- Forebreast (A): Use a soft tape around the base of the neck and upper chest, following the measurement position shown in the product size guide.
- Chest girth (B): Measure around the widest part of the ribcage, just behind the front legs. Keep the tape level and snug without compressing the coat.
- Check the chart: Compare both measurements with the size ranges below. The chart also lists belly length (C), back length (D), and a suggested weight range.
Canine Mind tactical harness size chart
| Size | Forebreast A | Chest girth B | Belly C | Back D | Listed weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Small | 15.7–26.8 in | 24.4–33.1 in | 8.3 in | 8.5 in | 25–48 lb |
| Medium | 24.4–31.5 in | 30.3–39 in | 9.6 in | 9.8 in | 48–78 lb |
| Large | 26.8–41.3 in | 34.3–45.3 in | 10.6 in | 11 in | 78–120 lb |
| Extra Large | 29.1–44.1 in | 36.6–48 in | 11.6 in | 12.6 in | 120–170+ lb |
These are the ranges printed on the product chart. Since the listed ranges can overlap, compare both body measurements rather than relying on one number or breed alone.
If your dog is between sizes
The product chart recommends choosing the smaller size between sizes. If the forebreast and chest measurements suggest different sizes, email support@caninemind.net with both measurements and your dog’s weight before ordering. Eligible U.S. orders qualify for free size exchanges within 60 days; see the Return & Refund Policy for terms.
Check the fit after putting it on
Adjust the straps evenly so the chest panel stays centered and the shoulders move freely. You should be able to slide two fingers under the straps without the harness shifting loosely. Check that every buckle is closed and recheck the fit during use. A harness supports handling but does not replace a leash, supervision, or training.
See the Canine Mind No-Pull Tactical Harness product page and open its Size & Fit Guide to view the chart while choosing a size.
